Raila Odinga’s alleged plans to set up a parallel vote tallying centre in Tanzania have been faulted by Thirdway Alliance presidential candidate Ekuru Aukot. Dr Aukot, who led a team of experts that helped create the current constitution of Kenya, said Raila’s move would amount to breaking the law and undermining the sovereignty of the country. “I am worried about NASA’s plans to set up a parallel tallying centre in Tanzania. It offends our Constitution and undermines our sovereignty,” the lawyer said, as quoted by the Star. Unconfirmed reports indicate that Raila, the National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential candidate, has been allowed by the Tanzanian government to set up a parallel vote tallying centre in Kigamboni. “On this day, we are putting Raila and his collaborators, wherever they are in this world, on notice. We are civilised people,” Dr Aukot added. Last month, NASA revealed plans to establish tallying centre in Kenya, Germany and Tanzania.
