Leaders of the Orange Democratic Movement(ODM) have claimed that President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto’s side want to use judges of the Court of Appeal and the Independent Boundaries and Election (IEBC) Commissioners to rig out Cord leader Raila Amolo Odinga in the forthcoming general polls, Tuko.co.ke reports.
The party alleges that Jubilee wants to create an illegal National Tallying Center to ensure that the duo retains power.
ODM acting Secretary General Agnes Zani has said that Jubilee wants to set up the tallying center to rig the outcome of the next general polls in favor of President Uhuru Kenyatta when that time comes.
"ODM and NASA is privy to extraneous pressure being piled on judges of the Court of Appeal to divert from this constitutional provision on results declaration to provide for an illegal and unconstitutional entity called the “National Tallying Centre” read part of her Statement, as quoted by the local daily.
Zani also said that pressure is coming from Jubilee top brass, adding that opposition will not take it lying low.
“This pressure is emanating from Jubilee and senior government officials, including some at the Judiciary itself. This is unacceptable and can only be a recipe for chaos," she claimed on Thursday, May 18,” she added.
