The Kenya Police are hunting for a man they accuse of trying to shoot police officers before the NASA rally began on Tuesday.

In a statement on the Twitter handle, they say “We have launched a manhunt for a man captured on CCTV cameras aiming a firearm at a Police vehicle with intent to fire on Tuesday before the NASA event began at Uhuru Park. A cash reward will be offered to any person with information that could lead to his arrest.”

On Tuesday, the oath-taking by Raila Odinga went on without police interference.

Later, Internal CS Fred Matiang’i issued a statement saying that the police absence at Uhuru Park avoided a massacre on a large scale.

The police are rewarding anyone who will provide information leading to the arrest of the gunman.
