Principal Secretary Vocational and Technical Training Dr Dinah Mwinzi wants schools to incorporate a programme to counter radicalisation in their extra-curriculum activities.Speaking in Eldoret over the weekend during last day of the Rift Valley International conference, Mwinzi said it was important to sensitise students on the issue in a bid to curb a situation whereby some of them may be recruited into terror groups.“In a bid to counter radicalization, it is good for all the schools to establish certain programmes in their extra-curriculum activities. The programme will be aimed at sensitisation so as to equip them with knowledge on how to shun certain temptations like radicalization,” she said.In the past, some of the students who have been arrested over different terror attacks or plot have been said to have studied from Kenya’s universities or colleges. She said the schools should also factor in the security of students in all the institutions.“This will be achieved by installing modern security gadgets to ensure safety of the students is guaranteed,” she said.
