Private security workers have threatened to go on an industrial action since their salaries have not been increased by 18 per cent.

The directive to increase their salaries was given by President in May.

,Kenya National Private Security Workers Union secretary general Isaac Andabwa has said most security firms have not implemented the directive.

“We are telling those who have not adhered to the presidential decree on minimum wage, more specifically the 18 per cent increment, that we will declare war on them. We will go to court and even withdraw services,” Andabwa said.

He was addressing a press conference in Nairobi on Wednesday.

He added that they had already issued KK Security with a strike notice.

“On August 14, we will withdraw services of private security officers and demand what the President gave us. We will not leave even a cent to the employer...they must pay," he said.
