Mombasa gubernatorial aspirant Suleiman Shahbal has dismissed claims that President Uhuru Kenyatta has a personal vendetta against Governor Hassan Joho.

Addressing journalists in Mombasa on Friday after being cleared by IEBC, Shahbal said Joho's unbecoming behavior was the reason why he was blocked from attending the President’s events."I don't think there is any quarrel between the President and Joho, if you behave like a chokora you will be treated lika a chokora," said Shahbal."There are 47 county governors and it is only one who is always thrown out of public functions. This man has disgraced the office of Governor of Mombasa and he has to go," he added.Meanwhile, Shahbal hailed President Uhuru for successfully completing the first face of the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) which he said will act as a game changer to the country’s economy, adding that he was shocked the project was being opposed by opposition leaders."I believe that SGR is a project that will transform Kenya, it will expand the economy of this country. I am surprised that the people who were involved in the signing of the agreements to have the SGR are the people opposed to it now," he said.
