There was sombre mood in Kisumu as locals learnt of the demise of their favorite popular actress who passed on at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga hospital.
Actress Linda Opany died from post-delivery complications in Kisumu last week.
Linda was last seen on stage at the Alliance Francaise acting as the first wife of Lwanda in the tragic musical Kwe kalyet-Lwanda Magere.
Here are some of the reactions from Kisumu locals.
“It is so sad that I learnt of the death of actress Opany. Death is so cruel but may her soul rest in eternal peace,” stated Mercy Achieng.
“We are going to miss her favorite part in the play. We always loved her as she represented the community well,” noted Tiffy Ochieng.
“May the Lord Rest her soul in eternal peace,” said Daniel Migos.
“I was saddened by her sudden death. This is one of the worst nightmares, I still can't believe that she is gone. RIP Lucy,” said John Rabuo.
She studied at Siaya Primary School, and Sinaga Girls High School before joining full time stage performance.
She featured in Dholuo comedy films such as Jalach, Angels of Nyalenda among others.
