Nairobi senator Mike Sonko has maintained a steady lead ahead of his closest rival Peter Kenneth in contention for the Nairobi Jubilee governor ticket.

Out of the 17 constituencies, results from nine constituencies show the senator leading with 68,208 votes against Kenneth’s 28, 861.

Former Starehe MP Margaret Wanjiru comes a distant third with 5,282 votes after Kibra, Langa’ta, Embakasi East, and Dagoretti North were tallied.

Mathare, Embakasi South, Dagoretti South, Embakasi North and Roysambu sub-counties have also been tallied.

The results were announced by county returning officer John Rotich at Nyayo Stadium on Thursday.
