Sonko said the free medical services will be rendered until the medics' strike ends.

He spoke as the strike hit its seventy-third day on Friday.

By the time he made the announcement, the Senator's rescue team had already attended to 18 patients.

"I appeal to Nairobi residents with urgent and serious medical conditions to call my team on 0735100100 for free services," Sonko posted on his official Facebook page on Friday.

"Meanwhile, as the government and doctors try to agree on a return-to-work formula, the Sonko Rescue Team is planning free medical camps across Nairobi to assist patients seeking medical attention."

"My team will hire the striking doctors to offer services to the suffering Kenyans and camps will be operational until the strike is called off."

He said he is determined to ensure no lives are lost as a result of the medics' strike.

The doctors are currently in negotiation with the government to strike a deal that will compel them return to work after the release of their jailed representatives.
