Sony Sugar denied Mathare United a victory in a Sportpesa Premier league match played on Sunday at the Awendo Green Stadium.

Roald Reagan scored his first goal for Mathare United in the 15th minute with a poacher like strike from a forest of legs in the danger area.

Confident Amos Asembeka slotted home a penalty to return Sony into the game after Mathare’s George “Wise” Owino had handled the ball inside the box.

The result stretched the recovering Mathare United’s unbeaten run to six games.

Tusker overcame Western Stima 2-1 Western Stima  at the Kinoru Stadium on Sunday.

Ghanaian Stephen Owusu got into the score sheets for Tusker with a 25th minute opener via the penalty spot, the call made after Stima’s Ezekiel Otuoma had fouled Jakson Macharia inside the box.

Boniface Muchiri was tackled illegally inside the area by Stima’s Maurice Ojwang.

Goalkeeper Samuel Odhiambo reduced the deficit for the visitors on 67 minutes with yet another penalty which he slotted calmly past his Tusker counterpart Duncan Ochieng.

The result marked the end of Tusker’s uncharacteristic winless run that had stretched to an agonizing five matches.
