The Kenya Muslim National Advisory Council has claimed that the government is planning to assassinate Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho.According to the council’s chairman, Juma Ngao, the government is keen to “finish Joho as they did the late Ronald Ngala and Karisa Maitha”."The government is keen on finishing Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho like it did the late Ronald Ngala and Karisa Maitha," said Ngao, as quoted by The Star.The council on Thursday blasted President Uhuru Kenyatta saying he was stamping on Joho because he is fighting for the rights of Coast residents just like Ngala and Karisa.“Just like the two fought to have our land back, so is Joho. The State's endless attempts to bring him down can now be explained in this context,” he said.Ngao also said claims that Joho had forged his KCSE certificate were aimed at bringing him down in a bid to stop him from exposing the land grabbers at the Coast.“Alleged wars on forged academic papers, tax evasion and drug dealing are just smokescreens. They don’t want to be exposed on matters land and injustice,” he said, as quoted by the daily.
