While responding to IEBC, opposition chiefs dismissed IEBC that it should not tell them when to conduct their nomination.

However, the commission insists that the law should be followed and therefore they will extend the deadline for a week to allow parties to submit nomination lists as required by law.

Chebukati said only 57 out of the 67 registered political parties had submitted their membership lists by midday.

“The commission commends the 57 registered political parties that have delivered their submissions and urges the remaining 10 to present their lists urgently to enable the commission to publicise the information as required by law,” said Chebukati

IEBC is expected to gazette the names received from political within seven days and political party will be not allowed to carry out the party primaries before presenting the names to the commission.

Meanwhile, IEBC said that the process of auditing the register by KPMG has stated and will go on for 21 days.
