A suspected robber was on Sunday gunned down by police after a botched robbery attempt in Kamukunji.
Police described the man as being notorious for breaking into and stealing from M-Pesa shops.
They said that the suspect with his three other accomplices had tried to rob from an M-Pesa shop before witnesses raised an alarm, prompting police to the scene.
The other two men escaped on foot.
A stray dog was also killed by a stray bullet during the shooting.
According to Nairobi police boss Japheth Koome, the slain man was on top of his wanted list over at least six robberies targetting M-Pesa shops in the area.
