What crosses your mind if you come across a drunk man or woman who is unkempt, abusive to others both verbally and physically; who drinks himself/herself stressfully?

What crosses your mind if you come across a lady or a man, selling herself or himself out to commercial sex, dressed in clothes that are practically undergarments in the middle of a cold night; And at times they are exposed to even greater dangers like gang raping or even the risk of contracting incurable diseases like HIV/AIDS.

Many are times we point a finger at drunkards and criticize them for neglecting themselves and their families. Often we are selfish and seek to justify our own behavior’s, ignoring such people, who to say the truth are so much in need of help, or better yet, love!

May be some of the drunkards you see have faced rejection all their lives, from when they were young or their parents/guardians made sure that they felt as though they were nothing and they had no purpose in this world. So they rendered themselves hopeless in life and sought refuge in alcohol in a bid to ‘forget’ their problems.

It is until we stop burying our heads in the sand and deal with the vice lest we forget since some of these individuals are our brothers and sisters who need the greatest gift, love.
