The head of the Jubilee secretariat Raphael Tuju has dismissed claims that there are mass defections noting that only 10 aspirants have so far left the party.

He also insisted that those leaving the party were at liberty to do so since it was their right to associate with other political outfits.

"There are only 10 defectors out of the over 5,000 candidates according to our records from the Jubilee Party and that cannot be termed as mass defections as the media is reporting," he told Citizen's Cheche Show on Wednesday.

"Politicians have the right to associate with any political party, whether it is Jubilee or any other party," he added.

The former Rarieda MP also noted that the defections were not a good news to the Jubilee but added that it would not weaken the ruling party.

"Definitely we are concerned with the defections because we would want all Kenyans in the Jubilee Party," he said.
