Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi has dared President Uhuru Kenyatta to arrest him over graft allegations. The governor, who was responding to President Kenyatta’s recent statement that he will jail Kingi and other allegedly corrupt county bosses if wins the August 8 election, said the head of state has no power to have him apprehended.Kingi, who was campaigning in Kilifi South sub-county, said the President was speaking out of anger because his county ‘had shown no interest in Jubilee’. “I want to tell my brother Uhuru Kenyatta to read the law and the constitution well. Gone is the Nyayo era when the President could speak and one freezes, the era of barbaric leadership is gone and we can no longer be afraid of anybody,” said Kingi, as per the Standard.The feud between the two leaders started when President Kenyatta accused the governor of doing little with the funds the county government was receiving from the Treasury to improve local schools, which was had been exposed to be lacking basic facilities.
