Nyeri town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu has said President Uhuru Kenyatta will be sworn in for his second term on November 1 if Nasa does not participate in the October 26 repeat election.

He said Nasa presidential candidate Raila Odinga has disturbed Kenya for many years and so “Jubilee should not stomach any other disturbance.”

Nasa has said there will be no election if the IEBC does not carry out major internal reforms meant to ensure a free, fair and credible election.

“They have started mass action. Let them know that our silence doesn’t mean we’re afraid. We shall not stomach any other threat,” Wambugu said.

“If Odinga doesn’t want the rerun, we should also not accept nullification of the poll by the Supreme had filed a petition for dismissal of Chief Justice David Maraga for nullifying President Uhuru Kenyatta’s win.

He said the government should not allow mass action because the President is legally in office.

Wambugu urged Kenyans to counter the Nasa plan. He spoke when he launched the presidential campaign in his constituency.

The first-time legislator said Jubilee would win the next poll.

Uhuru will get nine million votes and have a clear victory, he added.

Meanwhile, Wambugu criticised Embakasi MP Babu Owino for “disrespecting” the President.

“Owino should know Parliament is not a campus, where he was dealing with Sonu students. He should respect leaders,” he said.

He praised police for swiftly arresting Babu and added that hate speech should not be tolerated.

Babu implied the President, but did not actually name him.
