According to President Uhuru Kenyatta the government has plans of canceling the Kaigonji-Aguthi-Gaaki water project tender as a result of long delays.

The government had allocated 500million for the project but has now opted to look for another contractor.

Reports say that the project is still in the beginning stages despite it plans for it to have been finished last year resulting in locals protesting and questioning the progress of the plan.

The water will serve those living in Mathira and Tetu Constituencies.

Equipment has been provided and allocated accordingly yet there has been minimal progress made.

"If the engineer does not want to do the work then we will find someone who does," said The President.

Uhuru added that the Jubilee government plans to subdivide Tetu Sub County to make government services more accessible.
