One of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s understated achievements is his provision of electricity in Luo Nyanza region, where all public schools in four counties and more than 200,000 new homes have been connected to the national grid. That is besides connecting power to 395 public schools and 50,913 new homes. In neighbouring Kisumu County, the list of Mr Kenyatta’s achievements in electrification programmes is even longer. On top of that, three substations have been installed in the county. What about Migori? In this location, more than Sh76 million has been spent to do public lighting in four constituencies, with 499 new primary schools and 36,917 homes also getting the connectivity. Homa Bay County has not been forgotten in the ambitions electrification programmes. Since 2013, more than 700 new primary schools and 43,107 households have benefited. Four constituencies in the county now have effective public street lighting, thanks to the Jubilee administration's highly effective project.
