President Uhuru Kenyatta and DP William Ruto will grace the swearing in of elected female governors.

The two are expected to be the chief guests during Ann Waiguru's swearing-in ceremony on Tuesday in Kirinyaga.

The president’s attendace was confirmed by Kirinyaga Jubilee Party vice chairman Mureithi Kangara.

"We are calling on residents to turn out in large numbers at the Kirinyaga university grounds in Kutus town on Tuesday. The event will not take place on Monday as earlier planned," Kangara is quoted by the Star.

Uhuru and Ruto are also expected to attend the swearing-in of Bomet Governor-elect Joyce Laboso and Kitui's Charity Ngilu.

The three are first female governors.
