Governors Kivutha Kibwana (Makueni) and Julius Malombe (Kitui) yesterday vowed to unite and rally the Kamba community behind Kalonzo Musyoka in his quest to become Nasa’s presidential flag-bearer.

Speaking when they joined residents for a Sunday service at Mulutu Catholic Parish in Kitui Central, the leaders unanimously said it was paramount for the community and its leaders to join hands in support of the former vice president.

“We must set aside our differences and speak with one voice so at to guarantee Kalonzo (Musyoka) the confidence and power to bargain for presidential candidature in the National Super Alliance,” said Prof Kibwana.

He termed the Cord co-principal as the undisputed Kamba political kingpin besides being best suited among the four Opposition leaders to send Jubilee government home and “deliver the country from mal-administration.”

“His unblemished profile, statesmanship and rich base of international networks makes him most suitable to fly Nasa’s presidential flag but he needs all the support he can get from his political backyard to actualise his presidential ambition,” argued the Muungano party leader.

Dr Malombe, on the other hand, termed Kalonzo Musyoka as the only hope for the Kamba community which he said has suffered age-old marginalisation by successive governments leading to serious poverty and underdevelopment in the region.

“We must join forces as a people, look past our small differences and focus on the ultimate prize which is sending our son to State House. It is now or never,” he told the congregants.
