Mombasa County boss Hassan Joho has dared president Uhuru Kenyatta to 'take' all of his money, and see if he will ever run broke. This follows a Kenya Revenue Authority letter to one of Joho's bank, Diamond Trust Bank (DTB), requiring that it provides all transactions Joho made since 2011.

"You are hereby given a notice to provide bank statements, account opening documents, mandate forms and any other records for all accounts held in respect of Joho," read part of the letter by KRA investigation and enforcement Department Commissioner Justus Kiuvu.

In the letter dated March 14 Kiuvu said: "Information available in electronic form should be availed in that form to [email protected] over and above providing certified hard copies of the same to 6th floor Time Towers.''

However Joho went public saying he was being targeted following his criticism to the president.

He revealed his three bank accounts, saying he was free to be investigated, and hid nothing.

''Mimi nina 'account' tatu. Nina account Barclays Bank, Stanbic Bank na DTB. uko huru kunichunguza na kuchukua pesa zote na kisha uone kama nitabadili msimamo wangu,'' Joho said in Swahili, in what seemed to be directed to the president.

He was speaking in Lamu county, Sunday.

Uhuru and Joho have been in political differences pulicly, with the president warning against following him around.
