Kuppet and KNUT officials have asked the Government to increase funds meant for sports in primary and secondary schools.

They said that failing to do so would paralyze sports in the schools at local and National level.

Kuppet chairman Osoro Okondo in Kisii said that the money proposed to be raised by parents was insufficient.

"The money the ministry seeks to collect from parents is not enough it will leave headteachers struggling a lot, " he said.

The Government is planning to collect Sh 1.4 billion from parents.

"We should be serious when it comes to nurturing talents failure tow high we shall blame ourselves, " he said.

On his take Mr Albert Ondimu who is the county executive secretary KNUT said that schools participated a lot on sporting in talent nurturing.

"What will remain in the schools is not enough because the school provide transport and food.  That means that the headteachers will strain, " he said.
