In the sh10 billion revised payment matrix released on Wednesday by a Vice-chancellors committee led by Prof. Francis Aduol, lecturers have lost alot following a cut by about sh500 milion which will go to non-teaching staff.

However, the lecturers had been allocated sh6 billion in the first payment schedule which is not the case now since they are going to get sh5.04 billion for their basic salary and sh546 million for house allowance while non-teaching staff who were to get sh3 billion will now get sh3.5 billion and sh383 million for house allowance.

Junior level staff that is under Kenya Union of Domestic, Hotels, Educational Institutions, Hospitals and Allied workers will receive sh1 billion in addition to the previously allocated sh1 billion.

Prof. Aduol confirmed that almost all the universities had received their share  of sh5.2 billion as promised on Wednesday.
