Ushuru FC coach Ken Kenyatta has expressed his confidence in the team’s chances of beating Thika United and securing a promotion to the SportsPesa Premier League (SPL).
Ushuru is set to face Thika United in a two legged playoff tie set to take place on December 6 and 10 in which the winner will secure a ticket to take part in the league next season.
“We have come down to the two most important matches of our season. We need to play better than Thika if we want to realize our dream of playing in the SPL,” said Kenyatta.
In the last six encounters between the two teams Ushuru has only managed to win once in a 2-1 match which took place back in 2014.
Despite history not favoring Ushuru, Kenyatta is confident that the tie set to start on Wednesday will work in their favor.
“This is a lifeline we have been handed. The chances for us are 50-50 but there is a lot at stake. We have to fight for it,” he added.
