Former Devolution CS Anne Waiguru’s running mate Peter Ndambiri was allegedly attacked and robbed of Sh200,000 by youth on Saturday after Kerugoya rally turned chaotic.
Ndambiri had asked the youth to hold a demo in Kerugoya town chanting “Waiguru Tosha”, but they demanded cash for the demo.
Things went out of hand when Ndambiri offered them Sh100 each as opposed to Sh500 which they had demanded.
The angry youth attacked him, and tore his shirt and trousers in an attempt to get the money from him.
“How can a governor aspirant give us the same amount MCAs give us and expect us to march singing slogans?” one youth asked as quoted by the Star.
Ndambiri was rescued by his security personnel and hidden in the boot of a Toyota Probox belonging to his ally before speeding off.
