Interruptions were minimal if not zero which has reflected in our KCPE results," Milemba told Citizen TV's the Big Question on Tuesday. He also noted that strict measures to curb cheating during exams was also another factor that reflected in the good results. Milemba said that spread of leakages before was a threat to teachers, who in turn ensured they assisted their students to 'keep their jobs' by posting good results. On the 'coming back' of public schools in terms of posting good results, Milemba warned the government not to sit back and assume things are now well, as they will soon be overshadowed by their private counterparts."Once competition picks, we will see a rise in performance in private schools based on issues such as teacher motivation, school facilities and teacher-to-student ratio. The government must employ more teachers, improve facilities and motivate its teachers," Milemba who is also the Emuhaya MP said.Milemba further noted that if the government does not do more 'we will be back to standardization of marks' adding that the decision turnaround in private schools is also faster compared to public schools, thus they implement things faster.
