Wiper Party Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka received hostile treatment in Kitui when he urged the electorate to re-elect the incumbent Dr Julius Malombe ahead of the August General elections, Capital FM has reported.

The residents started shouting Mama mama in reference to Former Lands minister Charity Kaluki Ngilu, who has also joined the race to unseat Governor Malombe in the August polls. Addressing the residents in Kabati, Kitui County, Kalonzo defended Malombe saying that he deserves re-election.

The former vice president also said that National Assembly minority Leader Francis Nyenze is still his voice despite having caused a storm in the political outfit a few weeks ago when he lauded President Uhuru Kenyatta’s performance scoreboard. In the meantime, Malombe has embarked on his campaigns in his backyard as he seeks another term in office.

The governor has been asking his people to re-elect him so that he can complete his projects. The county boss has boasted of initiating various projects in the region since he took over leadership following the last general elections.

Ngilu, on her part, has insisted that she is the right person to replace Malombe. She has been calling upon residents to back her candidature in order to correct the mistakes of the current leadership.
