Mutua has a long way to go if at all he means what he says. Maendeleo Chap Chap is still a small political party as much as we cannot ignore the fact that it is growing.
With the likes of Deputy William Ruto, Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho and Wiper Party Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka in the political arena, Mutua rise to presidency is not likely to happen.
The governor has affirmed that he only supports President Uhuru Kenyatta and not Jubilee. He has also distanced himself from National Super Alliance (NASA).
The county boss will have an uphill task to convince voters from Western, Coast, Central Kenya, North Eastern and other parts of the nation to back him for the nation’s top seat.
We cannot ignore the fact that Mutua is among the best performing governors in the nation but he still has more to do to become the president.
The governor should know that political alignments play an important role in the leadership of this nation.
