Lawyer Nelson Havi says ODM leader Raila Odinga needs the presence of Embakasi East MP Babu Owino to push for his quest for presidency.
With only just a month as MP, Owino, has found himself at loggerheads with government and was arrested on Monday for allegedly abusing President Uhuru Kenyatta.
And on his tweeter, Havi, a renowned NASA lawyer, says Owino’s revolutionary attitude from campus politics could help put the government under pressure.
“Babu is fresh from campus and his given lifeline to campus politics that played important role during the fight for pluralism.
“With Jubilee seems to be keen to curtail freedom of speech, Owino is at pole position to use institutions of learning to push for reforms in the country,” he says.
Despite his election to the National Assembly, Owino is yet to relinquish his position as SONU chairman, a seat he has held for four years.
True to revolutionary spirit, his speech at Nairobi’s Kawangware suburbs is currently the point of contention and he has been already charged with incitement by the state prosecutors.
