The former prime minister has been very vocal when it comes to matters of national interest. He has dined and wined with different leaders from 42 Kenyan communities. Here is why Raila is not an enemy of the Kikuyu community as many perceive him.
First and foremost, Raila supported former President Mwai Kibaki to ascend to power. During this time Raila was aware Kibaki is a Kikuyu. Voters from the Kikuyu community have reasons to believe that Raila will be a president of all Kenyans if elected
Secondly, Raila nominated a number of politicians from the community. A good example of a leader who enjoyed the fruits of the hard labor of the former prime minister is Nominated MP Isaac Mwaura. Although Mwaura opted to walk away from his camp, he will remain as his role model.
Thirdly, Raila fought for Royal Media Services which belongs to SK Macharia. Macharia is not a Luo. Why would he fight for Macharia if he hated Kikuyus?
Fourth, the opposition leader also fought hard for Master Mind company limited and other companies that were on the verge of collapsing. These companies have many Kikuyu shareholders from the community.
Fifth, the opposition leader has unveiled scandals that affected all Kenyans including Kikuyus. When the nation loses funds, even Kikuyus suffer.
