Deputy President William Ruto has lauded National Super Alliance (NASA) under the leaders of Raila Amolo Odinga for remaining united and campaigning using policy based tactics and not ethnic lines.
Ruto, who has been a strong critic of the opposition, said that he is glad about what they are doing as we head to the polls.'
'We have all along wanted to elevate our politics from ethnic to policy based and are happy to learn that our competitors too have noticed that and have come together to face us in a policy based battle,'' said Ruto, as quoted by Tuko.co.ke.
The legislator also said that the leaders of the alliance have emulated Jubilee after they came together to form a team that is likely to take them to state house, which he doubts.
''We showed the way by bringing over 13 parties together to make the strong Jubilee Party we are boasting of now and we can see something almost similar in the opposition,'' he added.
In the meantime, both Jubilee and NASA leaders have elicited divergent opinions on the recent importation of maize from the country of Mexico.
The opposition has been questioning the swiftness with which the maize arrived in the country.
