AfriCOG Lawyer Harun Ndubi addressing the media on Wednesday at AfriCOG Lavington offices on Wednesday. He has told off President Uhuru Kenyatta over the ongoing crackdown on civil society. [NTV]Africa Centre for Open Governance (AfriCoG) has condemned President Uhuru Kenyatta for the ongoing crackdown of civil society organizations in the country.AfriCOG Lawyer Harun Ndubi has said President Uhuru and his deputy William Ruto have had a 'personal vendetta' with the civil society since they were prosecuted at the International Criminal Court."They have been shamelessly been holding this personal vendetta against the civil society because they still believe we (civil society) were behind their Hague cases. Let me say this to Uhuru Kenyatta and his government, accept and move on," Ndubi told the media on Wednesday at AfriCOG offices in Lavington, Nairobi and which were reportedly raided by Police and KRA officials.Ndubi said that they are headed to court to challenge the said raid which he termed as 'blatant violation of the law'."AfriCOG is not a criminal organization like it is being treated. If there is anywhere the organization has gone wrong, there are legal ways of ensuring compliance and not raiding us here like criminals. But we know why they are so much on our necks ," he said.
