A Nairobi family is mourning one of their own after she succumbed after a breast enlargement surgery.
The death of Julie Wanza came as a surprise after a seemingly uncomplicated surgery had been conducted.
The operation was carried out last week by an unnamed surgeon at his clinic at Galleria Shopping Mall.
She was discharged only to develop more complications that came with severe abdominal pain.
Wanza then went to Nairobi Hospital where she was admitted immediately in the High Dependency Unit, before being taken to the ICU.
Doctors revealed that the first operation had tampered with her intestines which were found to have been cut in a suspected fat transfer augmentation.
"Because her intestines were cut, all the waste was seeping out and spreading inside the stomach. That caused an infection called sepsis. Doctors battled to save her life on Friday but she died from the infection," said a family member as quoted by Mpasho.
She will be laid to rest on Saturday.
