Youths who plan and execute hooliganism in political rallies would be dealt with police officers in accordance to the law.
Kisii County commissioner Samuel Njora and police commandant Agnes Mudamba on Thursday said they will monitor political rallies in the region closely.
“I warn the youth causing chaos during political rallies to cease because they will regret the steps we shall take against them,” Mudamba said.
Mudamba lauded members of public for alerting police chaos that had marred a political gathering at Tendere two week ago after opposition supporters tried to disrupt a Jubilee function.
“I also assure politicians that the police will provide security during the political meetings. This is our responsibility and we must do it,” she said.
Njora said that the security team in Kisii County was going to monitor leaders and ensure that they take action should they incite their supporters.
“The police have already received gadgets and they are going to deal with ant leader who speaks carelessly. We must improve our security because that is our prime duty,” he said.
