During the ongoing presidential petition ruling’s full hearing, the Supreme Court identified IEBC officials who were reponsible for the mismanagement of the nullified Presidential elections.

While delivering the ruling, Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu said that election body was compromised.

Chairperson Wafula Chebukati, CEO Ezra Chiloba, ICT Director James Muhati and Director of Voter registration and election operations Immaculate Kassait were mentioned to be the key individuals behind the bungled pols.

Chebukati, as the Returning Officer was found guilty of failing to ensure the results were transmitted in the prescribed form as per the Constitution.

Chief Executive Ezra Chiloba was linked with the mishandling of the Kenya Integrated Election Management System.

ICT Director James Muhati was found not to have complied with a court order that compelled the electoral body to grant read-only access to its servers for scrutiny by the petitioner and court-appointed IT experts.
